Great pulley.

I had shoulder surgery for a SLAP injury - similar to rotator cuff - with 6 weeks in a sling. PT required a pulley. This over-the-door pulley was the closest I could find to the design at PT - where there was a bar that allowed you to stand under the pulley and pull your arm straight up. Most other pulleys are just a strap that keeps you right up against the door so you don't get quite the right angle. I thought the price might mean this was too cheap and would break, but I have been using it now for almost 2 months and it has been fantastic. It has not damaged my door. At this point I would say with tremendous force I can pull my arm to full range of motion. I worried about the force breaking the pulley, but it has been fine. What has broken is the rope. With so much wear and tear it was too much for the rope. It was easily replaced - I bought 110 lb paracord that seemed to be the right diameter. I got 100 Ft for $7, so if you have some heavy duty PT to do you might consider buying better rope - or at least examining it before every use. I also had basically zero range of motion behind my back when I started, and as I progressed I found the plastic handles - while great for the other PT moves, was quite hard on my thumb and wrist for the behind the back pulls. So I modified the handle by making a kind of foam donut that I attached under the handle to slide my hand into. Other than the behind-the-back moves the handles are perfect for all the other PT moves. I would gladly have paid double or triple the price for this given how well it has worked for my recovery.

Has to be modified to fit 1 3/4" doors

Well made product but I had to grind off the rear lugs holding the rubber rings. My doors are wider than the doors in newer homes but it works fine if you take the rubbers off and put some duct tape on the holder. It's really a five star product. To keep it from being loose when using all you need is to gradually build up the duct tape thicker towards the bottom of the holder on the back of the door. You'll see what I mean if you look at it from the side. You don't want any space for it to move.Hope this helps those with fat old doors.

Exactly like my PT's pulley

This is exactly like the one at the PT center and the over the door hook did not damage my interior door during use. This helped me work out the kinks in a frozen shoulder over a period of two months. Grateful to have found this on Amazon and to be able to move through the correct motions at home which speeded my recovery. I bought a different version first which didn't meet my needs, but this one really did. Recommended!
