DMI® Deluxe Wood Transfer Boards

First of all, I hardly ever leave reviews. However, this board has been very useful. I suffer from spinal cord injury to both t-9 and t-3 vertebrae. I have found that this board is smooth enough to slide across easily. I find it very secure if you set it up properly. Even prior to my weight loss I believe this would have been able to support me well. While each user has different needs and leaves of ability to help caregivers or transfer themselves. If you can use a transfer board I recommend giving this one a try.

This saved our situation many times, dealing with cancer and metabolic failure. My lady had lost almost all muscle function due to long bed inactivity, and yet had to go out to chemo and other appointments. Short of a Hoyer lift, we were in trouble. It would take 2-4 aides or nurses to simply transfer her from the wheelchair to a treatment chair or bed. But when we added in this boar, along with a gait belt, we could do it with only 2, relatively normal (not strong) people. The board is a bit longer than normal, and has the grip handles. She could grab those slots, and help us move her along. And the tapered ends made it easy to slide -- either under her hips, or onto the board. This is a superb product, nice and strong, and definitely a must-have for chair-bound people.

This board has been amazing! My father needed it during a recovery phase and could not say enough about how this board helped him transfer from a power scooter to chair, to bed, from bed to scooter etc..This board gave him the ability to help himself and be as independent as possible.Well worth the purchase even if temporary.My father is over 6’ tall and over 200 pounds and the board was perfect!
